Overview

The East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education provides special education to students ages 3-21 with special needs in the Baldwin, Eudora, and Wellsville School Districts.

The ECK Cooperative employs school psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and physical therapists, school social workers as well as a number of special education teachers trained to work with various exceptionalities.

The Cooperative also serves children with high intellectual ability by providing enrichment and accelerated activities to augment the school's curriculum.

Over 500 students among the three districts are currently receiving some type of service. The Cooperative provides a range of options for support...from helping regular education teachers adapt materials or teaching methods to working with the students directly in individual or small groups.

In addition to resource rooms in each of the schools, the Cooperative sponsors programs for preschoolers ages 3-5 who demonstrate significant development delays and for children with severe intellectual and physical disabilities.
